„BIMS“ – Understanding Injection Molding of Thermoplastics

October 29 and 30, 2012, Stuttgart, Germany

Aachen, September 7, 2012 – Flow analysis codes requires good skilled and/or experienced specialists for optimum use and proper interpretation of results. 'To help professionals of Injection Molding, whatever their scientific background, develop a deeper understanding of the Polymer Physics behind the process is the intention of the seminar session.' commented Cristoph Hinse, General Manager of SimpaTec. "We appreciate very much to get the chance organizing a BIMS Seminar together with Prof. Vito Leo, experienced in the Plastics industry for nearly 30 years now.

The referent, Prof. Vito LEO –– goes deeply into the physics of the various thermoplastics processing behavior, thoroughly explain the mechanisms involved in this complex process from filling to final warpage, by using simple words and concepts, and minimum mathematics, to guarantee a better understanding of the complex interacting phenomena during molding.

Flow analysis codes are established and respected tools with excellent user interface and very good modeling capabilities. The idea of BIMS training sessions is to transfer basic knowledge of plastics and processing technology to professionals. And it is especially aligned for design engineers in charge of molded parts, mold making specialists, molders, flow analysts looking for analysis interpretation support or project leaders involved in developing molded parts. It may also be gainful for research engineers interested in injection molding, in process induced weakness and strengths or in improving their understanding of a given class of materials. The seminar may not fit the needs of beginners in the field; basic knowledge level should be those of young, skilled professionals with little experience. Language of the seminar is English.
